Teachers give up time to provide an excellent range of extra-curricular opportunities for our students, including lunchtime and after school clubs, day trips and residential visits. In a typical week there can be twenty or more activities or clubs on offer including – Chess, Climbing Wall, Dance, Film, Latin, Science, Textiles, Young Enterprise, Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme and many sporting and creative arts activities. (See our performing arts page for more details).
There is also a mind-broadening variety of out-of school trips and visits to art galleries, museums, theatres, field trip locations and diverse places of worship. Students also venture further afield, for example to practise their foreign languages in Paris, Berlin or on a trip down the Rhine, or to experience first-hand the legacy of the Belgian Battlefields. Some even join Team Uganda and visit our partner Secondary School in Mityana.
The school offers an excellent range of sporting activities as demonstrated in our Sportsmark Award. These can include basketball, aerobics, badminton, cross country, netball, volleyball, the fitness suite, Pilates, girls’ and boys’ football and rugby, with athletics, cricket, rounders, swimming and tennis in the summer months. There is sport for fun and fitness as well as a range of competitive sports teams who regularly bring home trophies from area and regional competitions.
