Every student who attends Testbourne Community School is a member of a House as well as our teaching and support staff. Each student wears a Testbourne tie in their house colour to help indicate which house they belong to. Our House Champion is Miss Parry and the 4 Houses at TCS are:
- Ash (Purple)
- Beech (Red)
- Oak (Green)
- Willow (Blue)

Purpose of the House System
The purpose of our house system is to provide students with opportunities to develop their social, intellectual, physical and practical skills. It also provides students with the opportunity to gain skills in leadership through the running and organisation of events (House Captains & Sports Captains). Our house system benefits our students by providing healthy competition and a sense of achievement when they work together for a good cause. Our students receive house recognition points from teachers when they demonstrate one of our learning values: Integrity, Diligence, Leadership, Ambition, Responsibility, Respect and Courage. Being a part of a house can give students a sense of belonging through the contribution of house recognition points within tutor groups and houses.
In Year 10, students can apply to become a prefect for individual subjects, Sport Captains, Senior Prefects, or House Captains. Two students are then elected to represent each house. The job of the House Captains is to take responsibility for the leadership and organisation of their house and house events throughout the forthcoming academic year.
The following are some of the house competitions that take place throughout the year; all competitions give the students the opportunity to win house points. A lot of our house competitions are charity-oriented which sees each house competing to raise the most money for Children in Need or donate the most food for our local food banks at the Harvest Festival for example.
