A Year 9 Science class were visited by two graduates from AWE (Atomic Weapons Establishment) who delivered a highly engaging lecture on forces and launched a challenge. Four students from the class will now be selected to compete in a challenge against other schools. We will keep you updated but here is what Jasmine Peacock had to say about the visit.
"Having the AWE Graduates in for a science lesson was a great experience. The topics they mainly focused on were aerodynamics and hydrodynamics. They made sure everyone was involved and engaged. We used a plan, test, evaluate and retest model to improve our paper aeroplanes.
They carried out a few experiments which involved the science behind drag and thrust. After the experiments they explained the science in a way we could all understand. It was a really good lesson!"
