TCS students reach the finals of a national coding competition!
On Monday 24th June, a team of five Year 7 students from Testbourne were selected to attend the finals of the prestigious national Open Schools Coding Competition at the University of Surrey in Guildford. Now in it's third year, the finals saw over 30 schools from the UK to be judged as best app creator. This year's remit was for teams to create an app for their chosen charity.
It was a jammed packed day with talks, competitions and the judging. Despite not winning , our Year 7s thoroughly enjoyed the day and gained great insight into potential careers/further education in the field of Computing and were inspired by the apps they saw at the competition.
Congratulations to Tom Bentley, Jack Palmer, Adam Milne, Michael Norman and George Unitt for being excellent ambassadors for Testbourne School and the hard work throughout the year preparing their app.
Students: keep an eye out in the Autumn term for a chance to enter the next competition.
