Duke of Edinburgh Award
What’s the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme?
It’s a leading youth charity which gives all young people the chance to develop skills for work and life, fulfil their potential and have a brighter future. For more information, please visit the Duke of Edinburgh's website by clicking on the following link:
Who are we?
We are a group of teachers, school support staff and parents who are supporting 28 young people from Year 10 to work towards their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
Can my son or daughter join?
We invite participants to apply to join the group at the beginning of the autumn term. Eligible children (they must be at least 14 years old) will be advised of how to apply through the school.
Can I help?
The group is run entirely by volunteers and we welcome adult help. You don’t need to be trained to join us as training can be arranged through the DofE award scheme. Getting involved might appeal to anyone who enjoys helping children achieve their potential. Adult support could include supporting expedition training (for those campers and hikers amongst you); giving guidance to help children complete their skills, volunteering and physical sections of the award; or supporting the group’s administration and organisation.
For more information about how you can get involved, please contact the school.
