GCSE Results 2017
We are proud and delighted to report that Testbourne students have again achieved fantastic GCSE results in spite the huge changes to English and Maths. Our Year 11s were the first year group to sit the reformed GCSE qualifications in English Language, Literature and Maths. We are delighted that 81% of pupils achieved a grade 4 and above in both English and Maths. In English 84% of students achieved grade 4 and above and in Maths, 87% achieved the same benchmark.
24% of pupils secured the new top grades in Maths and 19% in English. This is an excellent achievement in a climate where the reformed GCSEs have been described as the hardest since O Levels.
Other notable successes were in Music, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and BTEC Dance where 100% of students gained A*-C grades or equivalent. Geography, Citizenship, BTEC Health and Social Care also achieved pass rates of over 80%.
