Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

The TCS Hub is the base for our student support provision, incorporating aspects of SEND support (special educational needs and disabilities) and inclusion.  The Hub team includes 6 experienced Learning Coaches, a Senior Teaching Assistant, an ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) and our SENDCo.

The Hub works closely with the pastoral team to ensure that students receive the bespoke support that they require to become independent and resilient learners.  Programmes of support will vary, depending on students’ needs but could include:

  • Paired reading & Literacy support
  • Numeracy support
  • Comic strip conversations – promoting emotional literacy
  • Social skills support
  • Teaching Assistant support in a lesson
  • Break time and lunchtime supervision and support
  • ELSA provision – Emotional Literacy Support Assistant
  • Pastoral support
  • Support through external agencies such as Educational Psychologist, CAMHS, Speech and Language Therapist
